Ann P. Kaiser, Ph.D is the Susan W. Gray Professor of Education and Human Development at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. She also is the author of more than 175 articles and chapters on early language and behavior interventions for young children with disabilities and children growing up in poverty.

Dr. Kaiser’s research focuses on early language interventions for children with autism and other developmental disabilities with special interests. She also focuses on children at the early stages of communication development including children who are minimally verbal. She is the primary developer of Enhanced Milieu Teaching, a naturalistic early communication intervention approach. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Education, and Autism Speaks.

She is currently the PI for two randomized trials focusing on improving spoken communication in children using naturalistic behavioral interventions. She has received numerous awards for her research and mentoring including, the American Psychological Association’s Edgar Doll Award for Research in Intellectual Disabilities and the Council on Exceptional Children’s J. Wallin Wallace Life Time Achievement Award.
